That day I did an Insta makeup tutorial
Photo 1: Masterful teacher @zumbajamie
Most valuable advice? “Put shape tape here & here, this avoids the raccoon eye”.
Photo 2: my day of look debut (read: 4th full time through - my friends, neighbors & mailman all think I’m getting ready for something big. Uh, I’m already married. I already have a kid & I’m fortunate enough to be gainfully employed soooo nah, this is just for me. This is my new “self care thing” it could’ve been showering more (regularly) or getting better/more sleep. Let’s just say, this is the least involved care routine. Even got my self a new makeup bag (read that last part in the key of Forrest Gump - hands on hip, big smile & pelvic hip thrust and bed forward). This may seem incredibly superficial. Probably. Or narcissistic. Sure. Selfish. DUH. ITS SELF CARE.
But given all of the things 2020 has thrown at me - it’s just a simple, Amal albeit amazon involved change. Because LORD knows if it’s makeup or real pants, You’re gonna catch me looking real fly with my @fabletics & rockin a full face o paint. (Don’t hate, appreciate)
Tutorial amendment notes: I’m A little more tanned than Jamie, so the “white” didn’t work so I replaced it with a creamy beigey white ish color. Also, Jamie has eyelids & brows Anna Wintor airbrushes her vogue models to have - NATURALLY (90’s style notwithstanding). So I had to make changes based off my J to the LO feelin so good music video brows and my smaller droopy less dramatic lids. (Yes there is tape I tried to emulate her face, but then I put make up over it and well ah no. Anywho, her contouring/strobing tips were basically written for the me’s in the world who are like whaaaa?
I was going to put a disclaimer about the asymmetry of my face because the left side is numb & mostly paralyzed (not a big deal, fixable and working on it). Then I was nah, then I decided, full disclosure. Would want any one thinking I was not being transparent.
Thanks for reading this far down about makeup.
We took the scenic route but we made it to the end.
